No. You do not need an Oregon CHL to apply for a Utah CFP. Utah allows non-residents to apply, and our combined course provides the official certificate required for both Oregon and Utah applications. However Oregon doesn’t recognizes Utah with an Oregon CHL.

You must be at least 18 years old to attend the class. However, Oregon requires applicants to be 21 years old to receive an Oregon CHL. Utah allows permit holders at 21 as well (some exceptions apply for military). You can take the Utah class before you turn 21 but you must submit your application within 1 year of taking the class.

Class Registration, Cancellation & Non-Refundable Fee Policy**

This policy governs all classes, training programs, and events offered by Personal Protection Insight LLC (“PPI”).

1. Registration Fees

All registration fees and deposits paid to PPI are non-refundable once registration is completed. Registration secures a limited seat in the class and requires PPI to incur costs in advance, including but not limited to administrative processing, instructor scheduling, venue coordination, equipment allocation, and instructional materials.

2. Liquidated Damages

Registrant acknowledges and agrees that:

• Class sizes are limited and seats cannot always be re-filled after cancellation.

• Actual damages resulting from a cancellation or failure to attend are difficult to determine.

• The registration fee represents a reasonable estimate of anticipated damages incurred by PPI.

Accordingly, the non-refundable registration fee constitutes liquidated damages and not a penalty, as permitted under Oregon law.

3. Transfers / Rescheduling

If a registrant is unable to attend a scheduled class:

• One (1) transfer to a future class date may be requested.

• Transfer requests must be submitted no less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled class start time.

• Transfers are subject to availability and must be used within ninety (90) days of the original class date.

Failure to attend without notice (“no-show”) voids all transfer eligibility and forfeits the registration fee.

4. Attendance & Completion

Late arrival, early departure, failure to complete required instruction, or failure to meet course requirements does not entitle the registrant to a refund, credit, or transfer.

5. Cancellation by Personal Protection Insight LLC

If PPI cancels a class due to instructor availability, venue issues, low enrollment, or unforeseen circumstances, registrants will be offered either:

• A full refund, or

• Transfer to a future class date.

6. Acknowledgment & Acceptance

By registering for a class with Personal Protection Insight LLC, the registrant affirms that they have read, understand, and agree to this policy in its entirety.
