NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course
Instructor-Led

This comprehensive course is conducted in a traditional classroom and live-fire range setting and is designed for individuals seeking to develop a solid foundation in pistol shooting.

Course topics include:

  • NRA gun safety rules

  • Proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols

  • Ammunition knowledge and selection

  • Pistol selection, storage, and maintenance

  • Shooting fundamentals and marksmanship

  • Range safety and etiquette

  • Firearm inspection and care

Students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification under the direct supervision of an NRA Certified Instructor.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive:

  • The NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook

  • A written student examination

  • An official NRA course completion certificate, signed by the NRA Secretary and the Certified Instructor

One of the most critical steps toward ensuring your safety is having a personal safety strategy before you need it. The Refuse To Be A Victim® program teaches crime prevention and personal safety strategies to help individuals avoid dangerous situations and reduce their risk of victimization.

This nationally recognized seminar is awareness-based — not a firearms or self-defense class — and is open to individuals of all ages (recommended for ages 12 and up).
